Born in Lubań, Poland, in 1972, from Polish mother and Greek father, Adam Martinakis moved to Athens, Greece, in 1982. He studied Interior “Architecture, Decorative Arts and Industrial Design” in Athens. Since the year 2000, has been working and experimenting on computer generated visual media (3D digital image, animation, digital sculpture, digital video, new media). Since then, he had been teaching digital arts & design, graphics, interior design and ceramic design in many art institutes. He is member of the Greek Chamber of Fine Arts and lives and works in Poland, Greece and the UK.
Adam Martinakis is already one of the more notable digital sculptors in the international contemporary art scene also being a recognized pioneer in the 3D and Digital Art.
Working mostly about the human condition and consciousness, in Adam’s universe we are all dynamic mannequins floating in space. Those basic forms represent for him references of humans where the most important to him is the story they express. He describes his style as a mixture of conceptual, futuristic and surrealistic elements.
